ABOUT THE BAND
In the heart of the notorious London rock n roll scene exists a whirlwind duo of female energy and ecstasy, recognised as the Queens of Blues Rock. This is Never the Bride. Their live performance is to be held in awe, purely in anticipation of the live operatic architecture they unfurl upon their willing audiences. Hype? Well, try checking out the videos to the right! Over the past 25 years, Never The Bride have played at venues ranging from The Royal Albert Hall (on multiple occasions), playing alongside Elton John, The British Rock Symphony Orchestra and Blues festivals, Wembley Arena supporting The Who, The Viper Room in LA and Euro-fests galore, to intimate spaces like The Green Note in Camden. At the heart of Never The Bride are two trailblazing women: powerhouse vocalist Nikki Lamborn and Catherine “Been” Feeney, the band’s primary composer, keyboardist, and occasional guitarist. Together, they craft music with grit, grace, and passion, supported by a world-class lineup of musicians. Their career reads like a rock and roll hall of fame — sharing stages with legends such as The Who, Robert Plant, Elton John, Chaka Kahn, Bryan Adams and Beth Hart. Their unforgettable rendition of Going to California on Encomium: A Tribute to Led Zeppelin earned them a gold disc, further cementing their place in music history. BBC’s Bob Harris, a long-time supporter, introduced their live album Long Live Live with these words: “I was absolutely struck by their brilliant musicianship, their passion, their commitment — they really mean it.” Roger Daltrey said that “Nikki Lamborn has the best female rock voice since Janis Joplin - and I know what I’m talking about, I knew Janis”. The legendary Dame Shirley Bassey called the girls “inspirational”. They have performed private shows for Cher and Liza Minnelli. Bristol born Nikki Lamborn carries the dynamo vocal lead, while Glaswegian, Catherine ‘Been’ Feeney asserts the ‘sonic art’ with keys and vocals. Access: The theatre can be approached on foot through the archway in the middle of Bishopmead Parade shops. Timing: Doors and the bar open at 7.00. The show will start at 7.45. There will be an interval. The show will finish by 10.30. Tickets: Admission is by advance tickets only. Tickets are £30.00 plus booking fee, via TicketSource.
