To kick off the New Year, we've booked the extraordinary Mark Harrison and his Band - someone 'a little bit different and kind of groovy too' (according to Cerys Matthews of BBC Radio 2). Get ready for an evening of blues, roots and folk with one of the UK’s most original music acts.
With his outstanding songwriting, wry observations, striking rhythms and stunning guitar playing, Mark Harrison is widely considered one of the most original and interesting artists around. With the amazing rhythm section of Charles Benfield (double bass/harmonies) and Ben Welburn (drums/percussion), this is a trio which punches well above its weight. ABOUT THE SHOW
Where? The Malting House is a separate building at the back of the Barley Mow, West Horsley, KT24 6HR. It can be accessed via the Car Park at the rear. It is the home of the Horsley Live Music Club and is used regularly for intimate musical events, featuring acoustic, folk and jazz artists such as Steve Brookes, Reg Meuross, Hollie Rogers and the All-Time Lowes. There is a bar and a stage, seating and tables, and a relaxed, friendly and cool ‘club’ vibe.
When? Friday 10th January, 2025. The doors of the Malting House will open at 7.15. The show will start at 7.45. There will be two sets, with a half hour interval, finishing by 10.00. The bar will be open until 11.00. Please show respect to the performers by being prompt. Latecomers may have to wait for a suitable interval in the show before being admitted.
How much? Tickets are £17.50 (which includes a booking fee). Admission is by advance booking only, via Ticketsource - click here to book. Please note: there are no concessions, no refunds, no returns and no resale facility.
Seating. There should be enough seats for everyone who wants one, but this is not guaranteed. All seating is unallocated and cannot be reserved. Standing room is also available.
Bar. There is a bar in the Malting House, with a limited drink selection. You may wish to buy your first drink in the pub, then bring it into the Malting House.
Food. Food is served in the pub from 6.00. If you wish to eat, may we suggest that you order your food no later than 6.00. It is not possible to eat in the Malting House. Please note: the show starts at 7.45 prompt and we ask you to be seated by 7.30.
Parking. There is limited parking. We suggest that you consider sharing a ride or walking.
Please note. Voices and instruments will be amplified. There will be a drum kit. Mark will sing his own songs, which you may not know.
