Horsley Live Music Club and St Martin’s Church are proud to present ‘You’ve Got A Friend’, a celebration of the music of Carole King and James Taylor. This critically-acclaimed show brings together the timeless songs of these two American legends, blending beautiful musicianship with fascinating stories behind the music. The show is a timeline of their music, with back-stage stories, all performed by four professional musicians. The show has been performed at theatres across the UK, and recently had a West End run, which sold out. Audience members often comment on the authenticity of the music, and how it brings back lovely memories for them. You’ll be singing all the way home!

ABOUT THE SHOW
Date. Friday 23rd October 2026 Location. St Martin’s Church, Ockham Road South, East Horsley, KT24 6RL Timings. The doors open at 7.00. The show runs from 7.30 , with an interval, and will finish no later than 10.00. Seating. This is a fully-seated concert. Seats are not allocated, so it’s ‘free seating’ – first come, first served. Fewer seats are available than for previous events, to allow for greater comfort and better sightlines. Donations Bar. There will be a bar in the Church which will be open from 7.00 until the end of the interval. You are welcome to take drinks to your seats and to return to the bar at any time. This is a 'donations bar' - there is no charge for drinks, but you are invited to make a contribution. Profits from refreshments will be donated to the Willow Foundation, which provides memorable days for seriously ill young adults. Tickets. Tickets are £27.50 (which includes a booking fee). ABOUT THE ARTISTS
The show is a tribute to the legendary Carole King and James Taylor, performed by four professional musicians. JAMES TAYLOR Since 1968, when he was signed to the Beatles’ Apple label, James Taylor has become one of the world’s best-known and most influential singer-songwriters. He has sold more that 100 million albums, earned numerous awards, and continues to write and perform. Some of his better-known songs include: Fire and Rain, Country Road, Something in the Way She Moves, Mexico, Carolina in My Mind, Sweet Baby James, You Can Close Your Eyes and Don’t Let me be Lonely Tonight. CAROLE KING Carole King is a singer-songwriter and musician renowned for her extensive contribution to popular music. Since 1962, she has written or co-written more than 100 hit songs. She has released 25 solo albums and has sold over 75 million records worldwide. A few of her better-known songs include: Crying in the Rain, It Might as Well Rain Until September, It’s Too Late, Pleasant Valley Sunday, Up on the Roof, Will you Love me Tomorrow, You Make me Feel Like a Natural Woman and You’ve Got a Friend. ABOUT THE BAND Michael Goulding is a guitarist, bassist, singer and session musician. He currently plays George Harrison in the very successful Trembling Wilburys tribute band, appearing at venues all over London and the UK. He played bass recently as part of the backing band for comedian Nick Helm. Rebecca Turner is a pianist, singer and composer. She has worked with Wendell Richardson of Osibisa, and has made an successful album with him. She has performed her compositions at her own West End shows, and has had a residency at the Four Seasons Hotel, playing jazz standards. Tony Hammond gigged with top pub and club London-based cabaret acts in the early eighties. He recorded with Donovan and Splinter as an in-house studio bass player and has played on dozens of sessions for Denise Nolan, Five Star and Elaine Page, and many other artists. John Shearer has been a professional drummer all his adult life, mainly as a session artist working with members from Black Sabbath, Fleetwood Mac, Genesis, Uriah Heep, Iron Butterfly and many more, plus becoming a full-time member of world-famous comedy group “The Barron Knights”. |
